Money Saving Tips and Getting in Shape
When it comes to getting in shape, one of the worst things to do is buy a gym membership. Yep, you heard me. Buying a membership to a gym is not the answer to your problems.
I hate it when New Year’s rolls around and everyone starts making resolutions. Gyms love this because their memberships shoot through the roof. But after working out every day in January, people start to fizzle off and eventually stop going.
The problem with this is not just that they stop working out and lose the drive to finish their goals, but the real problem is that they keep paying for the membership! They pay $30+ per month to have the option of working out at a facility but only use it occassionaly.
You want to hear the best money saving tips for getting in shape? Stop working out and start using some of these ideas:
- Buy an “Iron Gym” pull-up and push-up machine that only costs $20. This little guy will hang on door frames and can be taken down with one swift motion to be used as a push-up bar. This cheap price and versatility is a great money saving tip that will get you in shape in non time. You will never be able to pass through the doorway without “doing ten.”
- Run stairs at your house or the stadium at the school near by. You do not have to find a huge long set of stairs in order to get in shape. Short ones will be fine. The idea is to always keep your body moving and use gravity as a resistance to burn that fat! This is a great money saving tip because it’s free!
- Buy a workout video series like “P90X”, “Insanity”, or “Jilian Michaels”. These can be purchased for about $120, $150, and $20. But just think, you will pay $120 in two months if both you and your spouse have a gym membership. With these videos you will have them for life and can even resell them in the future!
There are plenty of great money saving tips out there for helping you get in shape for less. Stop paying for something you don’t need, like a gym membership. And start living the life you want… with a little more money in your pocket at the end of the day!
