Contracting Agreement

Contracting agreement is an important financial agreement form. It is also known as independent contracting agreement. A contracting agreement is basically an agreement between a contracting party and an independent contractor for the performance of some services to be provided by the independent contractor to the contracting party.

Information That Needs To Be Furnished On a Contracting Agreement

In a contracting agreement, the following information has to be furnished:

1) Name of the contracting party.

2) Name of the independent contractor.

3) Mailing address of the independent contractor.

4) Social Security Number (SSN) of the independent contractor.

5) The list of services that are going to be performed by the independent contractor for the contracting party on their real property.

6) Address of the property.

7) The list of items that the contracting party has to supply in adequate quantity to accomplish the particular project.

8) The date of commencement of contract and the date of termination.

9) Amount of remuneration if the project is accomplished on or prior to the termination date.

10) If the project is not finished on or ahead of the termination date, the amount of deduction from the remuneration of the independent contractor for every day following the termination date.

11) If the project is finished prior to the termination date, amount of bonus that is payable to the independent contractor for every day ahead of the termination date.

12) Signatures of the independent contractor and contracting party.

Additional Information Present On a Contracting Agreement

The contracting party has the right to cease the contract by serving a 24 hours notice to the independent contractor if the performance is not up to the mark.

This is a contract for independent contracting services. Benefits like health insurance, unemployment insurance or worker’s compensation insurance are not offered by the contracting party to the independent contractor.

The contracting party is just concerned about the outcomes achieved by the independent contractor. The independent contractor has the responsibility of supplying all tools, labor and other unnamed items necessary for carrying out the project.

It is the responsibility of the independent contractor for making arrangements for worker’s compensation insurance for their workers and themselves. Payment of every state, federal and local tax is also their duty.
