Notice of Rent Past due: Purpose

Apart from reminding the tenant that he/she is behind with his/her monthly rent, ‘Notice of Rent Past Due’ is also a legal wording that warns your tenant of the possible consequences of failure to pay the due rent. As an owner, you should inform in writing so that your tenant cannot deny that he/she is aware of the situation. This notice helps to give your future actions a proper legal basis. You can simply produce this notice in future if you need to evict him/her from the property.

However, it is advisable that before sending the notice, you get it reviewed and approved by an attorney or any industry expert. You can also take help of an attorney while filling out the notice.
